Congratulations to all Surfers Paradise Crews that contested events in their age categories for the Va’a World Sprints Qualifiers/National Sprints.
We are pleased to advised that the following crews were successful in their bid of qualifying for the upcoming Va’a World Sprint Titles being held in Hilo, Hawaii in August 2020.
World Sprint Qualifiers
Masters Women – Placed 3rd (Bronze) in the 1000m Turns and 6th in the 500m Straight
Masters Men – Placed 4th in the 1000m Turns and 2nd (Silver) in the 500m Straight
V1 Senior Masters Men – Daryl Wetere placed 2nd & offered a qualifying position to represent in Hilo
V1 Platinum Men – Lindsay Freeman placed 4th & offered a qualifying position to represent in Hilo

Now for all those teams that qualified, keep up the hard work.
For the Club Championships, Surfers Paradise placed 12th overall out of all the clubs that attended this years Nationals. Not a bad effort considering we entered limited events with the small amount of numbers we have. This is a fantastic result for such a small club. Points are allocated over all categories from all events entered and podium placings.
