Vaka Eiva 2015   A select group of Surfers Paradise Outriggers in conjunction with a couple of others from neighbouring clubs will be combining to represent at the upcoming long week event, Vaka Eiva, which takes place from the 20th November through to the 27th November 2015 in Rarotonga.     The team consists of: Mel and Darryl Wetere, Amelia Cummings, Bay Mata, Jo Grammatico, Barry Mikaere, Paia Engu, Brad Williams, John Hoani and a few Raro locals.    

OC6 Series As we have recently wrapped up the OC6 for another season, planning is already taking shape and being put into place by the Coaches. The main aim for the club this coming season will be the National Sprint Titles from the 5th to 7th February 2016, followed by the Hawaiian Airlines Sydney Harbour Challenge on the weekend of the 17th/28th February 2016 followed by the World Sprint Titles from the 5th to 15th May 2016 at Kawana and the National Marathon Titles from the 20th to 22nd May 2016 at Mooloolaba.

OC1/2 & V1 Series The OC1/2 & V1 is about to get underway with the first event on Saturday 18th July 2015 hosted by Panamuma. SPOCC has a strong group of contenders in the one man series and they are all currently training regularly week in and out, rain or shine to build the skills to complete and hopefully medal in their participated events.

It’s a new year and the season is in full swing, with the National Sprint Titles fast approaching in the first weekend of February. We are looking at attending the National Titles as it’s a fun and easy weekend, with the canoes supplied we don’t have to worry about transport nor rigging them. If you haven’t received a copy of the program I’ve attached them below. I hope everyone is getting into training both on and off the water, every effort that is made shows and will be valuable in the coming season.
